Australia & New Zealand Wine & City Tours

The enjoyment of wine goes hand in hand with the enjoyment of life, and where better to experience both wine and life than in the lands Down Under? Raise your glasses – you’ve come to the right place!

At Wine Tours Australia & New Zealand, we specialize in sending wine lovers and wine learners to some of the best wine regions in the Southern Hemisphere. Using our special connections and long-term relationships in both Australia and New Zealand, we give you a very personal experience, whether you are a solo traveler, a twosome or a small group.

What is a perfect wine tour? It combines your ideal amount of wine tasting at both renowned and up-and-coming wineries with opportunities for wonderful food, often paired with special wines at top restaurants. It adds a serving (large or small) of touring because, to really appreciate food and wine, it helps to know about the area’s history and culture.  A perfect wine tour puts you in comfortable accommodations, so you sleep well and have a welcoming place to rejuvenate. Let us suggest hotels and guest houses that are typically Australian or Kiwi, providing you with a ‘sense of place’. And finally, unless you really want to drive on the left and ‘spit’, we’ll put you in the capable hands of expert drivers/wine tour hosts to enjoy your wine experience – without worrying about the possibility of road blocks and breathalyzer tests!

Which wines will we taste?  How about the styles you already enjoy! And others you don’t yet know you’ll enjoy! The terroirs and micro-climates of Australia and New Zealand produce wines styles you’ll recognize, wines that are new to you and wines that have an entirely different profile from similarly designated wines produced elsewhere. We are happy to suggest our winery picks and incorporate wineries on your wish-list. As important, we’ll suggest some of the best settings to enjoy what may become your new favorites. (You may be tempted to send home a case or two…)

What if we don’t know exactly what we want? We have designed a selection of itinerary components for the major wine areas of Australia and New Zealand. These mini-tours highlight special wine regions while also offering local activities and sightseeing. They can serve as either a blueprint or a source of inspiration. Furthermore, and most important, your package is completely customizable to suit your preferences, requirements, schedule and budget. Our on-the-ground partnerships in both countries allow us to organize virtually anything!

We know Down Under! Wine or unwind, we have our finger on the pulse of Australia and New Zealand – and for that matter, for extensions to the idyllic islands of the South Pacific. If you’re returning to the Americas, a stop in Fiji, the Cooks or Tahiti may notch the entire trip up from merely fabulous to surreal. Flexibility is our strong point – we offer confirmed itineraries but ‘aha’ moments may arise.  Changes may be discussed with the ground operator as you travel.

New Zealand Tours

“Once you travelled to the wine regions of Australia and New Zealand, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.”

Pat Conroy

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Mark Twain

WOW! Wine Tours of Australia and New Zealand really know what they are doing! We have traveled with them many times and have always had a wonderful time, everything runs like clockwork and is all top class.  I have been so happy with the company that I point all my friends in their direction.

Michie V., San Diego CA

My friends and I drank our way through Australia and New Zealand at many wineries.  The small group tour guides were outstanding.  WTANZ listened to our requests and personalized these tours concentrate on the wines. And we did not miss out on Rotorua with its Maori culture, Sydney Opera House, Australian wildlife and other adventures which served to enhance our amazing wine experience, especially South Australia – with efficient and timely transportation – we did not have to drive anywhere!

Ilze K. & Ellie T., Dallas TX

After a wonderful successful trip to Australia arranged by WTANZ, they are  currently arranging a trip for my wife and me to New Zealand.  They orchestrated unusual and spectacular sights, scheduled trips and events were on time and well planned.  Their professionalism is appreciated and highly recommended.

Dr. Friedrich Wenz, Spartanburg NC

WTANZ has planned two trips for us, including the Northern Territory, the major wine regions and Tasmania. As good as the first trip was, WTANZ outdid themselves with the second one! We recommend them to friends traveling Down Under, including New Zealand. Their knowledge of the wine districts (and we are serious about our wine!) is very good – you can trust them! They also have access to Aboriginal culture and this aspect of our journeys was very enlightening. They allow just the right amount to see every day – we had ample time to relax.

Beverley A., Pacific Palisades, CA

Two years ago, WTANZ helped us plan and execute a 3 week self-driving trip through New Zealand. What a great experience – their suggestions turned out to be right on. There was never a hitch – from transfers to car rentals, hotels to excursions – everything was flawless. We were impressed with the great location of the hotels and B&Bs – superb views and close to our activities. When we plan our trip to Australia we will definitely give them a call.

Ray & Sharon G., Clifton CO

Thank you again for all that WTANZ did in arranging our trip.  We appreciated being on our own, being able to stop wherever and whenever to dine and drink on our schedule, and to adjust our travel to a pace we enjoy. At the same time, you found the perfect lodgings, the best guides for the wineries, and made the auto-rentals stress free.  We quickly grew to trust your choices and had no worries that everything would be just fine.  We have fond memories of so many experiences from the Opera House and harbor to Tasmania and Milford Sound also learning about the Māori culture.
